As Stemilt’s Sales Demand Planner, you sit at the center of the business—where data, strategy, and operations come together. You’ll connect sales forecasts, inventory availability, and market demand to guide decisions that keep product moving efficiently and profitably. Partnering closely with Sales, Production, Scheduling, and Shipping, you develop accurate forecasts, monitor inventory flow, and support smart allocation decisions that optimize packouts, maximize grower returns, and ensure customers receive the right product at the right time. Key Responsibilities
Demand Planning & Forecasting
· Work with Sales Manager, Sales Director and Demand and Customer Insights Manager to develop, maintain, and refine short-, mid-, and long-term demand forecasts for apples, cherries, and pears.
· Analyze historical sales data, market trends, seasonality, and customer demand patterns to improve forecast accuracy.
· Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to incorporate promotions, customer programs, and market intelligence into forecasting models.
· Monitor forecast accuracy and adjust based on real-time sales performance and supply constraints.
Sales & Inventory Alignment
· Work with Supply Planner, inventory, production and scheduling teams to understand current inventory positions, quality variations, and storage conditions that impact sales strategies.
· Work with Sales Reps and Sales Support Specialists to understand customer specifications to direct the Scheduling and Production teams to better cover demand and maximize packouts.
· Provide daily and weekly availability updates to the Sales Team, including packout results, grade/yield shifts, and projected inventory shortages and oversupplies.
Cross-Functional Coordination
· Partner with Production/Operations to communicate sales needs, pack priorities, and volume targets.
· Coordinate with the Supply Planner to incorporate crop estimates, harvest timing, and grower program requirements into demand planning and forecasting.
· Serve as a key resource during seasonal transitions (new crop, varietal transitions, storage windows).
Data Analysis & Reporting
· Gather and prepare metrics related to demand planning, inventory position, and forecast performance and prepare presentations for relative teams within the organization.
· Utilize “Gap Tool” to identify risks and opportunities related to supply/demand balance and communicate them proactively to leadership and Sales.
· Support scenario planning to evaluate potential customer programs, market changes, or supply shifts.

Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Agriculture, Economics, or related field.
2–5 years of experience in demand planning, sales operations, supply chain, or forecasting.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with proficiency in Excel and business intelligence tools.
Ability to interpret complex data and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical teams.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
· Ability to deliver high quality results with an exceptional transparent, consultative, and partnering attitude.
· A commitment to understand that change is the only constant and a practice of change with purpose, flexibility, and adaptability is a must.

Preferred:
Experience in fresh produce, agriculture, perishables, or other fast-moving consumer goods.
Knowledge of tree fruit markets, varieties, grades, and industry sales cycles.
Experience with ERP or forecasting systems (e.g., Famous, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Tableau, Power BI).

Working Conditions:
This position operates in an onsite office/warehouse/agricultural environment.
Occasional travel to packing facilities, orchards, or customer meetings may be required.
Peak harvest periods may require extended hours or schedule flexibility.
