As Stemilt’s Transportation Planner you are tasked with analyzing, developing, and monitoring delivery plans for the Transportation Management department. The Transportation Planner reports directly to the Carrier Relations Manager and maintains excellent communication regarding results from proposed changes, possible improvements, and progress on team/departmental goals. This position supports four thousand Stemilters and is required to deliver extraordinary customer service at all levels. In addition to maintaining reports and working with analytical tools to identify any gaps in expectations, using a variety of customer systems to schedule delivery appointments, and resolving any delivery complaints or problems as they arise. Strong problem-solving skills a must.
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist in maintaining carriers for appropriate routes and lanes
- Build all order types into truckloads to optimize route planning when needed
- Tender loads for non-contracted lanes and award to appropriate carrier based on service, rate and receiver
- Maintain communication with vendors, clients and team, respond to emails and phone calls in a timely manner
- Keep track of moving shipments and provide updates to clients, and appropriate teams when needed
- Assist the department in working towards continuous improvement
- Create a culture within the team that leads to ensuring extraordinary customer service for all team members.
- Hold self and team accountable and ensure the development of a self-leadership team culture
- Contribute to the team and the Company in various other ways when requested or required

Experience:
- Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Power Point, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Experience overseeing work projects
- Working knowledge of SAP TM, Microsoft Power BI not required but a plus!
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED along with related experience. Experience working in transportation, the tree fruit or agricultural industry desired but not required.
