Summary:
This individual will be responsible assist the orchard manager to supervise and direct work of Stemilt Ag Service orchard labor employees and ensure a successful harvest by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Communicate direction from orchard managers to the employees
Supervise and train orchard labor employees.
Discipline employees when needed.
Scan employees’ work ID badges to record their shifts worked, as well as bins per employee.
Complete appropriate administrative paperwork.
Address any attendance issues or call ins with employees.
Serve as the first point of contact for any employee concerns or complaints.
Enforce Stemilt safety rules and standard operating procedures with employees.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervises employees in the orchard who may be performing duties such as picking fruit, climbing ladders, thinning, pruning, and operating machinery such as chain saws, tractors, etc.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
First Aid Certification
Valid Driver’s License
Other skills and abilities:
Experience in supervising employees in an agricultural setting.
Other qualifications:
Possess Cultural awareness and sensitivity
Experience in supervising employees in an agricultural setting.
Demonstrate work ethics and ability to deal with employees in a positive and courteous manner.
